Nainai’s Mountain comes out April 8th! I think of this book as kind of an I Dream of Popo in reverse. Whereas I Dream of Popo was about a little girl leaving Taiwan, Nainai’s Mountain is about a half-Chinese girl visiting Taiwan with her Nainai (paternal grandmother) for the first time. Like Popo, Nainai’s Mountain is heavily based on my own family.
Dreams to Ashes is launching in less than five weeks! This past month has been rocky in the United States. Immigrants are front and center in our national conversation, and many are scared and suffering.
